A New Mythology for the Information Age
Lucid Futurism began with a question that changed everything:
“What if awakening inside your dreams could help you awaken inside your life?”
From that question came a universe and a cultural lens shaped by two powerful forces: lucid dreaming and Afrofuturism. Together, they merge into a new creative movement built around consciousness, imagination, and future possibilities shaped through a Black lens.
This is the blueprint of the world I’m building — The LUCID Universe.
Lucid Dreaming: Awakening From the Inside Out
If you’ve ever had a lucid dream, you know the moment — that split second when you think, “Wait… this is a dream.”
And suddenly, the possibilities open.
The scenery, the imagery, the rules of the world — all of it comes from your mind.
And the moment you become aware of that truth, you can reshape the world around you.
You shift from passenger to architect.
Lucid Futurism takes that moment and turns it into a philosophy.
It asks:
What happens when we become lucid in this reality?
What new worlds emerge when we treat awareness as a kind of technology?
How does consciousness itself shape the future?In this way, lucid dreaming becomes more than sleep —
it becomes training for awakening.
Afrofuturism: Black Imagination as a Future Force
The second pillar of Lucid Futurism is Afrofuturism — a creative and cultural movement rooted in Black imagination, technology, mythology, and possibility.
From Sun Ra to Parliament-Funkadelic, from Octavia Butler to Black Panther, Afrofuturism has always explored:
“What does the future look like through Black eyes?”
Lucid Futurism continues that lineage, but through a new lens:
- dreams
- consciousness
- metaphysics
- multidimensional identity
- spiritual technology
It’s experiential. It’s visionary. It’s a new mythology for a new age.
A Life Shaped by Information, Technology, and Vision
My journey toward Lucid Futurism started long before I had the language for it.
I was born in 1971 — the same day the first Pentagon Papers article dropped — in a world entering a new age of information and upheaval. My mother worked at Xerox when Xerox was the tech giant of its era, building the foundations of modern computing.
I grew up surrounded by early tech, creativity, and information culture.
I had a computer at home in 1981.
I watched the future arrive before most people knew it was coming.
All of that — plus 20+ years in information technology — eventually merged with my love for storytelling, consciousness studies, and myth-making.
Lucid Futurism is the result of that fusion.
Building a New Mythology
Lucid Futurism isn’t just a concept — it’s a connected universe with characters, timelines, and worlds:
- Evan Wheat – the protagonist
- Peregrine Nation – the ancestral precursor where the Lucid Universe begins.
- Solar City – the futuristic alternate universe
- The Free Radicals – rebels of authoritarian regimes

Each explores awakening, identity, and the technology of the self.
Marvel has its multiverse.
DC has its pantheon.
But our stories — our cosmology — deserve the same scale, depth, and imagination.
Lucid Futurism is my contribution to that legacy.
